Short Scrunch Socks

Really wanted to do this sock for a while and did it a couple of weeks ago. Catching up on my postings as I have been busy with custom socks of late...but wanted to post this sock on my blog. I actually love the results and will do another only in white or off white. This is citrus lime in color and I think I am the only person that loves this color!!!!!!!!

Welcome 2013!

And a Happy New Year to everyone...let's hope that 2013 brings joy and gladness to all and good health and prosperity as well.
I am getting myself organized after a very busy December. I have a backlog of Scrunch Socks to knit as well as a couple of interesting projects, which include a Scrunch Sock but knee high version. That will be an interesting project. Not sure how it will work as cotton is the typical yarn I use for the Scrunch Socks...I am thinking that wool blend would be better for knee highs because of the elasticity. Might have to rethink that a bit.

Let's all enjoy the year and surround ourselves with many many yarns and projects!!!!! Happy New Year.

The Cotton Cable Scrunch Sock

So this has been a very interesting journey from a year ago when I created this sock from a photo for a lady who wanted the sock, to today having knitted 20 pairs with 3 back logged and having put the pattern on paper to sell. I am dumbfounded that I started the selling price at 40.00 and currently a finished pair is 46.00 and custom is 50.00. I keep raising the price as I keep thinking that they won't sell so quickly and I can then have time to knit socks and mitts that I have been wanting to do. I actually have a pair of mitts (Criss Cross Cuffed) that I am half way through but keep having to stop because of another custom order of these my Biggest Seller...the Scrunch Socks! Just amazing and funny thing is I love to knit these and really have gotten to the point that I can knit them within 3-4 days...and that is only knitting in the evenings. But today because I have 3 back logged I will be knitting during the day to fullfill the orders! Wow.

Cotton Scrunch Socks

I cannot believe that I have knitted 10 pairs of the Scrunch Socks with 2 Custom orders that have to be knitted. This have become quite the sock and actually love knitting them. I have memorized the pattern and now with doing cables without a cable hook it has been an easier sock to knit. The only problem is when I knit the socks for custom and having to alter the pattern slightly to fit the dimensions that are given. That becomes a challenge but I have really loved knitting these.  I know I have to order more cotton yarn but have been putting it off until I can order enough for free shipping...can you believe that!

OTracyO Dancing Socks

And then inspired by my sister in law, Tracy, to do the Scrunch Sock with open toe and heel for dancers, yoga and fitness enthusiasts...this is results. Very soft and actually a very nice look when fully up or scrunched. Might be a good sock to do a pattern for but will see if it sells on Etsy before I do anything. I am doing a really nice royal blue in this style as well...then it is back to some basic cable socks for the Holidays. Love those socks.

Looking For A Pattern

I received a note from a woman who wants this sock knitted for her. I think I can do it and improvise but would be wonderful to get the pattern. If anyone knows where this pattern is or from a source that I can find, it would be great...but in the meantime, I will improvise. The main cable pattern looks to be a moss stitch with a diamond cable and the sides are I think just a basic 6 stitch cable. Really a great looking sock and will use a cotton sports weight yarn and probably #3 needles. Wish me luck!

Short Sports Socks

So finally did the pattern for the Short Sports Sock for anyone interested in knitting them. Fun to do and a great gift. Hopefully this pattern is written so that anyone who tries it will be able to do it in short time. Here is the thing...all you have to do is contact me for the pattern with your email...I will send you the pdf of the pattern. Haven't quite figured out how to link up the pattern.

Cotton Sports socks

I decided to try to get a pair of sports socks created and this is the result. Took 5 samples but I think this one works. Did a little rib on the foot for a little support and edged the cuff with a couple of rows of color for fun. Added a pom pom and that was it. Not too bad although I still need to do another to make sure the pattern works out. Will post on Ravelry later this month.
