Merry Christmas and Happy 2016!

Can't believe that I haven't posted on my blog for so long...it has been a couple of months and have been knitting away. Did another pair of gray heart socks (seems to be a really good seller) and working on a random spotted color sock...a look of tweed. Then did another scrunch sock as well as a short scrunch sock for a woman who has purchased a total of 12 socks from me over the years. Thought it would be a nice Thank you to her for her continued loyalty to my shop.

This year hasn't bee any better than last year as far as my sock sales went but was very much filled with lots of conversations with my knitting community. I do love how my little hobby has given me more avenues to hone the craft and discover more ways to knit socks.

So wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New 2016!

I am sure it will be great year of knitting.

Heart Clog Socks

Working on a Heart Clog Sock for my Etsy Shop. Knit Picks Stroll is the yarn and the sock is a Vanilla Sock with the Heart Pattern on the heel (Partridge Heel). I love the color combination.

It will be interesting if I get any responses from it. Sales have been down except for patterns...dud, do you think I should be writing more patterns? Haven't sold a knitted sock for a long while now and hopeful that the holidays might bring in customers....but who knows.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Ethan's Seahawk Socks

Hurrah....Ethan's Seahawks socks in time form his birthday. I hope he likes them and that they fit. Really was quite the project trying to create the Seahawks logo....I hope I don't get in trouble by using it. Love the colors of the Knit Pitcks Brights (Apple Green). Very bright and clearly the Hawks color.

New Socks

Today posted two socks that I had been working on for Etsy. Sales are a little slow but the holidays are coming and going to have a sale in my shop toward November. These are two socks with patterns: Basketweave and Lacy Rib. I incorporated the patterns into the socks and they came out really nicely. Hope that they sell.

A Little Bit of the Irish!

I decided to knit a pair of socks for my Grandson Luke....who is entering his new high school this fall. The colors of the school are Maroon and Gold and thought I would send him a little school spirit! These were knitted using Knit Picks Stroll and Wandering Wool is the gold color.

Short Scrunch Socks

So haven't posted a lot of late and it is June already....lots of knitting has been happening as I received some custom orders that have been taking a lot of my time. These were knitted for a repeating customer who wanted my Scrunch Socks in a short version and on lighter weight yarn. Had to refigure the sock pattern and knitted of smaller needles but they came out really nicely and hopefully she will like them. Used Knit Pick Comfy Fingering yarn.

Bright Socks

Decided to try a new pattern for a pair of socks. Using an interesting triangle pattern. Sorta looks like those triangle flags that wave on lines. The yarn is Knit Picks Brights and just love this color. Also knitting them as ankle length as I would think they would nice for the Spring or fall. Pattern is working so well that I think I will put it on paper. It is easy to remember an 8 row pattern repeat. More soon.

Working the sock.

Dither Socks

First seen in FB Addicted to Sock Knitting...the Dither pattern free down load on Ravelry "Dither Sock" worth the knit. Loved how fast this went and loved the end result. Ready for St. Pat's Day and my husband is a lucky fellow!

Shown inside out...not a lot of long floats!

Winter Knitting

Snowy days so knitting a lot more than I usually do. Wish I could knit faster as some on the group in Addicted to Sock Knitting do....one lady knitted 27 socks since the beginning of the year. Not sure if it was hand knitted or machine knitted but that is a lot of socks. My knitting always seems to get complicated with my mind always wanting to elaborate on a given pattern or just want to do something original...that is bogs me down I think. Anyway a couple of items I knitted the last couple of weeks: Lacy Alpaca Socks (merging two fine lace weight baby alpaca threads together) and a wrist warmer...new to me but were suppose to be a pair of socks. After I knitted the pattern I thought i would just make them into the warmers to show off the pattern!
Simple pattern and really warm.

Snowy Day Knitting

This week we had a snow storm and that left me with time to knit since companies closed their doors to business and my graphic business was taking the day off. Started these using stash of leftover yarns. Knit Picks Stroll Fingering in interesting colors...thought I would do those stripe socks the old fashion way...I do love knitting stripe socks with leftover yarns...waste not, want not!

Grey, Brown, Prussian Blue, White and Tan socks!

Long Cable Link Socks

Decided to work on a new pattern yesterday...I do love cables and always wanted to incorporate long cable link into a sock. Rib like and gives that bit of elastic feel around the foot and ankle that I think helps with the sock fit. Using Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn for test sock...stay tuned.
