Red Double Cross Cable

Well did finish the Red Double Cross Cable and up on my Etsy shop. In the mean time sold a couple of best sellers Scrunch Sock and Short Cotton Cable Socks! Got to knit a little faster and hurrah...only two more custom socks to finish before the holidays!

Twisted Cable Cuffed Mitts

Haven't written in my blog for a while now but it was a long and busy summer with custom socks to do and lots of golfing and family issues....but back to work on my Etsy shop and trying to finish up some custom requests for the holidays. Can't believe that this year is almost over and I look back and think where has the year gone!!!!!!! Still have so much to do and so little time.
These were knitted basically to add to my Etsy shop as I had no mitts and had to get some in for the cooler days ahead. Love these and was a great opportunity to work the pattern to make sure it was easy to follow an.....the pattern was! On to a pair of red socks for the holidays and another custom order then maybe I can finally get to writing down the pattern for the slip stitch socks I did earlier. Yikes!

More on Mosaic or Slip Stitch Technique

Now starting another pair of socks for my husband but thinking and writing down the pattern as I knit. Very interesting and may be too difficult to complete a pattern that knitters can really understand. As with all my patterns I try to write them so that any knitter can journey through with ease...but am finding the heel and sole of the foot may be a challenge to have a continuity of the pattern. Anyway the challenge is on and hopefully I can find a clear way of explaining how to have a pattern that will be seamless and beautiful on the foot...this is where I am at this point.

For the record I am posting the photo of the first Slip Stitch sock I did last week as it came out really well...of course I didn't take notes...whenever I knit a sock that I am creating I never really write down notes as I just like the journey and the creative process...

Mosaic Knitting...

Yesterday decided to knit up a pair of mitts using some extra Rowan Finest yarn I had...love this yarn for warmth and softness. Wanted to try doing up a pair of mosaic brick patter...very simple for a first effort....loved the results...no strands of yarn getting tangled up and not more floats to contend with. I hate putting on a pair of mitts or socks with floats that could get pulled easily. These worked out so well....I will do up another project with another simple pattern and see how that goes.

Happy Valentines Day

Posted this photo on FB yesterday...this sock has become one of my best sellers. Amazing as it is really not exactly a mind boggling pattern but is more simple and clean. I love the heart on the heel, which is a partridge heel. (The heart is knitted in satin stitch with the heel and toe in the partridge pattern. Really easy but will work on any sock pattern from rib to lacy patterns.

BTW got over 100 hits on FB with over 70 downloads on Ravelry for the heart pattern. Nice.
