And started a new pair of socks using two cakes of Knit Picks Gradient "Beach House". This yarn is dyed in wide color sections. Each cake is enough to knit a pair of socks...so for matching you must buy 2 cakes and you will have enough for 2 pairs of matching socks. I am knitting these as short anklet socks as that is is new section in my Etsy shop that I want to work on.

The pattern for this sock is first of all a Latvian twist on the cuff comprised of 2 rows of knitting and then the twist over 4 stitches.

The pattern is a slip stitch vertical lines worked over 2 rows. hoping that I will be able to finish these fast.

And a Merry Christmas! My very creative daughter made me an Advent Calendar!
She participated in an Opal Yarn Swap and collected 25 samples of Opal Yarns! Wow...then put them in little packets she made and labeled them with numbers from 1-25. Ingenious I thought as as I opened the packets I thought of her and her thoughtfulness. This truly was a gift I will remember for ever. The yarn looks to be enough to make up a pair of socks with the addition of a nice solid color will make great stripes.
Wishing you all a very special Holiday....I certainly had a special one.

Half way thru...looking beautiful

Dec 25 All opened up!

Earlier this month received a photo from a client who wanted me to duplicate a sock she had in cotton. Was an interesting project which will end up being a pattern in my shop at Etsy and Ralvelry.
It basically is an anklet sock with a chevron patten. The heel is a short row heel but interesting I am knitting another pair using a new heel to me...short row Japanese style. Don't know how it will turn out but want to try it out. anyway sent the socks to my client and hoping she will like them.

Another Scrunch Sock! Sold!

Well was interesting....finished this pink Scrunch Sock and put it on Etsy for sale.....These were knitted using the Knit Picts Comfy cotton yarn...My husband took these really perfect pictures and I saved them through photoshop. Spent probably and hour just uploading them onto my shop....BOOM...not 5 minutes later....they were sold. Seems that it was on the site for just a few minutes. No one saw the beautiful photos he took...so here they are!
Thanks Dan.

Mosaic or Slip Stich knitting

Just finishing up this Mosaic Sock...Interesting that I discovered while knitting this pair that the best heel to use was the "Afterthought" heel technique. I also. through trial and error that you can knit a nice rib pattern for the back of the heel. That makes the fit that much more snug and frankly I don't think I would use any other heel style while knitting an all over patterned sock that I don't want to interrupt the pattern....possibly stripe sock as well. It is a nice change to the basic flap heel.

Slip Stitch Sock Design

Still trying to work on slip stitch for sock. I did knit a couple of socks using a slip design and thought this might also work as a sock. Still trying to work out the pattern but think I can modify this pattern to work for a pair of socks. I want to make the white "dots" a bit smaller with more color surrounding the dots. This pattern as it is is called "Wasp Nest". Stay tuned. This one may become a pattern.

Happy New Year! 2017

So starting off the year with a pair of socks, knitted using Knit Picks Felici yarn. Wanted to try out this yarn for a while as reviews on it were really great for self striping yarn. Clearly was great to receive the yarn as a Christmas gift and dove into knitting this pair quickly. Actually was wonderful to work with and very soft. Will make sure i have this on my list of self stripe yarns.
