In mean time I am knitting a pair of Braided Cable Socks in a Lorna Laces Sock Yarn I got on sale. They are grey and really beautiful to touch and feel. Probably will up the price on them as well as Lorna Laces Yarns are not cheap but twice the price of my normal yarns even on sale! The yarn is finer quality and weight and I knit using #1 needles for a really fine knitted material. Takes a bit longer to knit because of the weight but really beautiful finish product. Just not sure what price to put on them.

Mitts and Socks To Do

Criss Cross Fingerless Mitts
Took the Criss Cross sock pattern and used it to knit up some cuffed fingerless mitts! Gave me a reason to try the pattern again and do a bit of intarsia knitting.
What fun this was and I love having cuffs on mitts. Ideal for any activity that requires you to use your fingers but still too chilly to keep those fingers exposed to the elements.
Great for your everyday walks, jogging, or just to keep your hands and fingers warm. I liked the idea of exposing your fingers for those quick tasks and being able to cover the fingers just as fast to keep your fingers warm.
And an added bonus…the thumb is also cuffed for you to keep your thumb toasty too. Don’t want to cuff them…just scrunch them…perfect look and fun.
Great on the computer when the office gets a bit chilly.

Scrunch Socks again!
So really have been busy...these Scrunch Socks have been a real winner. Did this grey pair last week and working of a red pair now. I really have to knit fast as I have a list of personal socks I wanted to knit as well as a couple of mitts I wanted to try to design. Wish there was more time in the day...Etsy Scrunch Socks

Fair Isle Men's Socks

And so after doing those polka dot socks I thought I would try these. These were knitted with Berroco Ultra Fine Alpaca yarn (Peruvian Wool, Fine Alpaca and nylon). I have found that using a finer yarn weight than sock yarns when knitting Fair Isle is less bulky and much more smooth on your foot. These are in combination of Grey, Black and White.
Had gotten the book Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch from my daughter and loved the way she laid out the various patterns used in socks in the book. This pattern #2 was an example of taking the pattern and just using portions of it for these socks. I also did not do the heel in short rows but used a flat flap heel. The book has many various cable and stitch patterns A good book for your library.
I love this yarn…very easy to work with and soft and warm and will probably work with this yarn again.
