Using the Fair Isle Sock Pattern I decided to try to do an after thought heel instead of traditional. Never did an after thought heel but thought it might work on this pair of socks. So first picture is of the sock with a pink line of knitted stitches over half of the stitches for the sock.
Second picture is the completed tube with toe.
Finished the heel and the sock is finished.
I am not excited by the results as It was difficult to pick up the stitches for the heel. I think that if it were not a Fair Isle pattern but something more one color or variegated that it would not have been as difficult. Would I do this heel again? I doubt that I would but did want to try it out.
